Dundee Oregon Wineries, Restaurants and Attractions

The most common reason people visit the area. Some recommendations:

Hyland Estates:  This is the closest winery, just a walk next door.  They make excellent pinot noir using some of the earliest plantings in the Willamette Valley, and also make some of the best white wines in the area, in our opinion.  All their wines are estate wines, including Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, Riesling, Gewurtztraminer, Rose, Sparkling Wine, Late Harvest Riesling. Their team of French winemakers produce fewer than than 5,000 cases per year. In addition to their own label, made from some of the earliest pinot noir plantings in the Willamette Valley, the adjacent NW Wine Company makes wine for numerous other local labels.

Domaine Roy et fils:  This is a new tasting room about a half mile from our property. Fewer than 5,000 cases of Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, and Rose.

Furioso:  Italian winemaker Giorgio Furioso is known for both his winemaking and his love of art.  His tasting room showcases estate-grown Pinot Noir and Chardonnay, as well as a Willamette Valley Sparkling Brut; the tasting room is known for the views from its glass-walled design.

Knudsen Vineyards:  A winery with a deep history in the area, the Knudsen family has been in the industry since 1971.  From the gorgeous tasting room views, they offer an excellent Pinot Noir and Chardonnay, and a refreshing rose.  With their large acreage, they also continue to supply grapes to Argyle winery, the largest producer of local sparking wines.

Cramoisi Vineyard:  Sofia and Ryan McKay are the archetypical sub-boutique Oregon winery.  They use biodynamic farming techniques on their 6 planted acres to produce Pinot, Chardonnay, and Rose.

Bella Vida Vineyard:  A small winery with a gorgeous tasting room and views (hence their name) that offers a good collection of Pinot Noirs and an intimate tasting experience.

Ayoub Wines:  Fewer than 2,000 cases and very hard to find, but known for making amazing wines.  A wine reviewer told us that Mo Ayoub makes amazing wines, but there's no point in writing about him since his readers can't get ever their hands on a bottle.  Mo Ayoub offers Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, and a few blends.

White Rose Estate:  This is also a small winery that makes amazing Pinot Noir (and only Pinot Noir).  They offer the most educational tasting experiences and will do a tour with advance notice.

Winter's Hill Estate:  One of our favorite family-run wineries, you can nearly always find someone from the family working at their winery.  We feature their Pinot Noir and Pinot Gris at our inn, and they also offer a Pinot Blanc, a Rose, and a Sparkling Wine.

Holloran Vineyard:  A casual winery and tasting room located nearby, they offer great wines with a diversity of high quality wines.  In addition to a great Pinot Noir and Chardonnay, they offer a Riesling, Rose, Sauvignon Blanc, and a Tempranillo.

Domaine Divio:  If you love Burgundy-style wines made with Oregon grapes, this is your place.  French-born owner/winemaker Bruno Corneaux and his family moved from the Burgundy area and evidently took the place with them.  They offer Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, Rose, a Sparkling Wine, Pinot Beurot (Pinot Gris), and a Passetoutgrain (a blend of Pinot Noir and Gamay Noir).  They have a very lovely and very intimate tasting room.

Stoller Family Estate:  A great place to bring a picnic lunch, they have an ultimate frisbee course on the grounds.

Domaine Drouhin:  This winery is run by a French winemaking family and also offers an interesting and informative tour.

Argyle:  Nearby in downtown Dundee, they offer three different tasting flights, including one of all sparkling wines.

Other Attractions:

Briar Rose Creamery: Our favorite local cheesemaker; we feature her cheese in several of our dishes.

Vista Balloon Adventures: Offers hot-air balloon rides over wine country.

Durant Olive Mill:  Local olives, grown and pressed onsite, olive oil tasting, and a gift shop.  Also a pleasant 1 mile hiking loop and their next door winery.

Evergreen Air and Space Museum:  A fun and educational museum featuring military and civilian aircraft including the famous Howard Hughs' “Spruce Goose.”

Wings and Waves Water Park:  A large indoor waterpark featuring slides and wavepool, affiliated with the air and space museum.

Champoeg State Park:  About 15 minutes drive away, this state park has paved biking trails along the Willamette river, hiking trails and visitors center.
